Painswick Local History Society
A collection of about 200 photographs on glass plates dating from c.1900 – 1905 donated to the society by the Reed Family.
The collection includes a number of slides of buildings and scenes around Painswick. In addition amongst others there are shots of the house and gardens at ‘The Rockery’ where they lived, shots of plants and flowers, what we might today call ‘holiday snaps’ along with some very fine ones of Wells Cathedral. It is clear that Edward Reed was a fine amateur photographer.
