Harry Townley was a founder member of Gloucestershire Society for Industrial Archaeology (GSIA) back in 1964. He was Chairman from 1965-68 and latterly in 1997. His knowledge of all aspects of industrial archaeology was immense and he was the author of five books on the railway and industrial history of different areas in Lancashire.. Find out more....
